Sunday Six 2.13.21

*Would make a great v-day gift! The perfect balance of comfortable and sexy, these are high rise briefs made of Parade’s signature soft, recycled fabric with silky, sheer mesh panels and a breathable cotton lining.

These are very high-waisted but stretchy, hitting me just below my natural waist. I feel sexy, modern, and well-supported when I wear these. I’m a pretty standard size S, size 2-4, 26-27, and the Small fits me perfectly! Parade gifted these to me in Eightball and Olive (no longer on the website), but I already have two more pairs in my shopping cart to purchase myself. I’m also loving the Scoop Bralette!

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect natural bristle brush for powder cheek products. I wanted something similar in shape to the Real Techniques Setting Brush but with the performance of a natural bristle brush. Alas, I have found the one.

I knew I would love this brush before I purchased it, but I love it even more now that I’ve had a chance to test this out thoroughly. It’s a small, fluffy cheek brush with a pinched ferrule, which makes for the perfect targeted-yet-diffused application. It builds pigmentation if used in a tapping motion, and blends seamlessly with a swirling or painting motion.

The perfect powder companion to my favorite Sonia G. cream blush brush, the Mini Booster.

My love for the Glow Lust formula is well-documented on Instagram and YouTube. Until now, I’ve used the shade Pyrite, a beautiful true olive neutral tone that is a true skin tone shade for me. I love it for days when I want a glossy skin look that doesn’t *look* like I’m wearing highlighter.

Recently my friend Gabi (@thegabriellealvarez), a makeup artist who has worked on several Auric campaigns, gifted me the shade Selenite, a brighter almost peachier beige tone, and I’ve loved using it for a lighter, more illuminated highlighter on my skin tone. It lifts my complexion, so it does look more noticeable, but true to the Glow Lust formula it is never glittery or shimmery. It creates a pearly, even glow that catches the light beautifully.

Top to bottom: Auric Selenite, Auric Pyrite, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter 4. Heavily swatched on the inside of my arm which is quite a bit lighter than my face, but hopefully this is helpful!

You can see me use it here and here!

A sleeper hit. And it’s $8! I’ve recently had the opportunity to try some products from Colourpop. I admit, I haven’t kept up with Colourpop for many years. But it seems that in that time, Colourpop has developed some excellent new formulas.

The Glossy Lip Stain is reminiscent to me of the Lancome L’Absolue Lacquer or the YSL Glossy Stain formulas. These are sophisticated gel-like formulas that create a sheer stain with a gloss-like formula that becomes a bit grippy as it dries down so it does not slide around. You get shine of a gloss and the grip of a liquid lip without any of the crustiness.

Sugar Snap is a beautiful warm peachy, slightly terracotta nude. My favorite kind of nude for my skin tone. It’s not a long-lasting formula, but it leaves behind a subtle stain on the lips and wears away evenly. The deeper shades would leave behind a more noticeable stain.

This juicy, fruity lip product reminds me of a modernized Lancome Juicy Lip in oil form. The Mango & Lime scent is divine, a sweet tropical fruity treat.

The lip oil is nourishing and uber shiny. It’s not a long-lasting lip product, but my lips are left softened and nourished.

6. Lash Lift at BlinkBar

I had my first lash lift this week, a complementary service from BlinkBar Sherman Oaks, and it was a lovely experience.

My natural lashes are naturally very short and straight, so though the transformation was natural, it was still very noticeable to me. It gives me a sort of eye-opening, lifted appearance and it’s so nice to get to wake up with curled eyelashes. The results will last 6-8 weeks.
